We started our evening at South Orange middle school with a public meditation.  Peter led a meditation which allowed us to start the New Year with a peaceful mind.  Later practitioners met at the center in Maplewood for a meditation followed by New Year's revelry. Renata was the event photographer.

PICNIC WITH IMPERMANENCE

We had a large turnout for our meditation. We started with a short hike to the Willcocks-Badgley cemetery. Peter provided us with a history of the area from the Revolutionary War time period. We then walked to a small, grassy glen where we settled down for the meditation on Death and Impermanence. It was really wonderful to sit in the open air, meditating to the sounds of birds. Following our meditation, we enjoyed a delicious pot-luck picnic lunch.
